E-Book Overview

Antipatterns are conventional problem-solution pairs in software engineering that do more harm than good, and three general types were identified by Brown and colleagues in their groundbreaking Antipatterns (1998): architectural, design, and management. Laplante and Neill (both software engineering, Pennsylvania State U.) offer information-technology and software engineering managers and team members a new catalogue of antipatterns that extends and complements the work, identifying more examples in those three general types and adding environmental or cultural antipatterns, and personality or phenotype antipatterns. Distributed in the US by CRC.
