Anglo-saxon And Anglo-scandinavian Art: An Annotated Bibliography

E-Book Overview

This volume is intended to furnish serious students and scholars in various fields with a comprehensive but selective bibliography of Anglo-Saxon and Anglo-Scandinavian art. The bibliography covers all media other than coins and architecture but is limited in its chronological scope to works of art which range in date from approximately the last third of the ninth century to about the first quarter of the twelfth century. This is the art of the second major artistic period of Anglo-Saxon England, termed by art historians "Anglo-Saxon" or "Viking Age." The earlier "Hiberno-Saxon" or "Anglian" period will be the subject of a separate volume in the series.
