Bhagavad-gita As It Is (french) - Bhagavad-gita Telle Qu’elle Est
E-Book Overview
Śrīla Prabhupāda instructed his devotees to translate his books into all languages. In a letter to one of his GBC managers, Śrīla Prabhupāda writes:
"Please print as many books as possible, this is my real pleasure. By printing these books of our Krsna Conscious philosophy in so many different languages... We can literally turn whole nations into Krsna Conscious nations.... Please continue like this to print books in all the languages for the benefit of suffering, misdirected humanity."
The Bhagavad-gītā is universally renwned as the jewel of India's spiritual wisdom. Spoken by Lord Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead to His intimate disciple Arjuna, the Gita's seven hundred concise verses provide a definitive guide to the science of self realization. No other philosophical or religious work reveals, in such a lucid and profound way, the nature of consciousness, the self, the universe and the Supreme.
His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is uniquely qualified to present this English translation and commentary on the Bhagavad-gītā. He is the world's foremost Vedic scholar and teacher, and he is also the current representative of an unbroken chain of fully self-realized spiritual masters begining with Lord Krishna Himself. Thus, unlike other editions of the Gita, this one is presented as it is - without the slightest taint of adulteration or personal motivation. This edition is certain to stimulate and enlighten with its ancient yet thoroughly timely message.
"One should accept the instructions of the Supreme Personality of Godhead by bowing down at the lotus feet of the Lord. This means that anything spoken by the Personality of Godhead should be taken as it is, with great care and attention and with great respect. It is not our business to amend the words of the Supreme Personality of Godhead or make additions or alterations, as it has become a custom for many so-called scholars and svamis who comment on the words of Bhagavad-gita. Here the practical example of how to accept the instruction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is shown by Prthu Maharaja. This is the way to receive knowledge through the parampara system." (Srimad-Bhagavatam 4.20.17)
Śrīla Prabhupāda’s books are the most significant contribution to the world. His writings have been translated into over fifty languages. Highly respected by the academic community for their authoritativeness, depth and clarity, they are used as standard textbooks in numerous college courses. His Divine Grace has written over sixty volumes of authoritative translations, commentaries and summary studies of the philosophical and religious classics of India.
