Stack, MA, MPA, RN Jean Pieri Flynn, EdD, RN, received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, a master of arts degree in inservice education, a master’s degree in medical-surgical nursing and education, and a doctor of education degree in research and nursing administration from Teachers College, Columbia University. Dr. Flynn is currently at New York Presbyterian Hospital in the Performance Improvement Department as a Six Sigma organizational improvement leader. She has had extensive experience in staff development, continuing education, and quality improvement, both as an instructor and as a manager at three large metropolitan teaching hospitals in New York City. Dr. Flynn has been a presenter at numerous national management workshops and research conferences. She is the author of several articles and two books on leadership, medical-surgical nursing, and teaching strategies. Madonna C. Stack, MA, MPA, RN, received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a master’s degree in medicalsurgical nursing and nursing administration, and a master’s degree in public administration in the health care administration program at New York University. She has had experience in critical care, staff development, and continuing education as an instructor, clinician, and manager. In addition, she has had extensive experience in executivelevel nursing and hospital administration positions in large metropolitan teaching hospitals in New York City. Ms. Stack is currently an independent health care consultant. Ms. Stack has served in leadership roles in a number of professional organizations, has been a presenter at numerous national conferences, and has authored articles on critical care nursing, nursing administration, and health care, and a textbook on coronary artery bypass surgery.
