E-Book Overview
Congestion and traffic-related pollution are increasingly becoming major issues in towns and cities worldwide. This book deals with carefully selected market and non-market based measures to reduce congestion, and their implementation and effectiveness in tackling the problem. The book will comprise a multi-authored research-based text comprising 14 individual chapters. The authors are world experts in terms of the respective Demand Management Tools and have been carefully chosen. The aim of the book is to detail the role played by selected Transport Demand Management (TDM) measures in dealing with both congestion and traffic-related pollution in urban areas, focusing on their relative merits and in particular their effectiveness and the issues surrounding implementation. It is intended that the book will have an international perspective, drawing wherever possible on relevant case studies.
