Teacher Guide To Music And Dyslexia

E-Book Overview

British Dyslexia Association, б.г. — 26 p.
At least one in ten people in the world have dyslexia or a closely related condition. Consequently they have some very specific weaknesses which can impede learning certain things, and what they find difficult will be individual to them. So whereas you might find rhythm difficult, someone else may find remembering the sequence of notes, a challenge. Fortunately, great advances have been made in the last 40 years in how teachers can teach to be ‘dyslexia friendly’. This is the most effective teaching method for everyone and this guide will give you lots of tips and techniques on how to help your students learn music, including those who happen to be dyslexic or have another specific learning difficulty. Inside you’ll find a series of articles from leading experts on the subject, offering insights and ideas which you will find inspiring and useful in your teaching. At the end of the guide you will find a list of useful links and recommended reading.
